I am in need of a new look. Do you like either of these? (The color isn't 'set in stone'. I am open to suggestions). Do you like either? Neither? Suggestions? Thank you, in advance, for your help!

I like the look of both. It really depends on the style that you're going for - the 1st says elegant, the second says contemporary.

yeah. I guess that is also what I can't decide. Which should I portray??? Decisions, decisions.

from a purely technical standpoint (not message like karen was getting at), the 2nd one works better. the first one, I can't even really make out what the initials are at this size, which is kind of a common size...ie, there is no real memerable part. the 2nd one is much more eye-catching.
but again, if it isn't portraying the personality of your business, then it's still not right....and only you can decide that.

honestly neither do it for me. letters aren't really a logo - and since *tons* of photographers give up and use their initials, what separates KJ from JK? Toooo confusing. A logo should be a symbol, sign or other unique identifier that immediately makes someone think of you.
If I say pepsi, you think of red, white & blue in that circle yes?
Ready?
Nike.
See the danged swoosh? Betcha. that's a logo.

i just had my logo done, by a graphic designer who is supposed to be top in his field. all he came up wtih are my initials and i am severely disappointed - he did incorporate a heart into them, but still a bit bland - so i kinda agree with matt, get more of a 'brand' going!
