I have a bride and groom that are wanting thank you cards....not sure what they want yet folded press printed or a simple image on photo paper to add to something else. If the latter is their riute, I know what to charge. If it is press printed....not sure. How do you guys handle these mass card orders. (maybe 100 or so...so not that big) but you get the idea thumbsup.gif

i do quite a volumn of greeting cards. they are on photo paper though. My clients and seniors love them. If you wanna check them out they are on my website. right now i just have seniors due to the season. i was charging 1.00 which was WAY too cheap. i have tons of designs and think they are fun. they all come with an envelope too.

I've been experimenting with thank you cards this year. I've been including 25 free cards with every package - including them without telling the couple so when they get their prints, there's a set of thank you cards with an image of my choice, and on the back my logo and instructions for how to view the online photos. If people want more cards, it's $50 per pack of 25.

It's too early in the year to tell how well it's working. I don't anticipate making money off the cards, but I figure it's advertising for me, and a great image is getting sent on art linen paper and someone else is paying for the postage! smile.gif

I do a lot of greeting cards too. I price them so that the more you order, the lower the per-card price. I custom design all my cards in photoshop. No two cards are the same. I build the design fee into the price, but I keep it low because of the free advertising aspect of it. (My logo, website and phone number on back, along with an additional pic and the family's name). I print on art linen paper, usually, unless the design calls for some other type of paper.
1 set of 25 cards and envelopes: $70
2 sets: $65 per set
3 sets: $60 per set
4 sets: $55 per set

Every client I had last year from August through December ordered cards. Most of my bookings for this year have come from people who received a card from someone last year.

Sorry I didn't get back sooner! I was out of town, with limited internet access. This help me a ton, and I appreciate it. I really do like the idea of included some as a surprise for the bride and groom! Surprises are always fun (well good surprises that is!)

I quoted them $2.00 per card....so that seems about right.

Thanks again!

Thanks everyone for pointing out that the thank you cards can actually help generate business -- with someone else paying the postage! I liked Ryan's idea about giving some away as an enticement. Very clever.

Julie, where do you get your cards printed up? If you've been charging $1.00, you must be getting them printed quite cheaply!

Thanks,
Aaron
