Hi Everyone,

I need help. I'm really, really pissed at art leather right now. I use their imount books for my guestbooks and I placed an order a month ago for a book I need for a wedding this Saturday. Well, they are backordered and didn't care to even notify me! They won't be able to ship them for "a couple of days" or however long it really is.

Is there any similar product out there that I can order and have by Friday??? I looked into Kolo books, but I need an 8x8. Help!

Don't use Art Leather. They are so unbelivabley unprofessional. I got warned several times to not use them, but I didn't listen. When something is backordered they should call their clients ASAP to let them know. That way I could have dealt with this three weeks ago rather than 3 days before my wedding.

hmmm 8x8? Checkout the self mount albums at www.topflightalbums.com- they might have something 8x8 and could probably overnight. And there are some self mount albums at www.weddingalbumsandmore.com - but they are all 10x10 or 8x10.

Thanks so much Shelby. I will try them! I can't tell, but I hope they come in other colors besides black. That might be asking too much though

Pictobooks has the "Breeze" self-mount book, but I'm pretty sure they come only in black, and only in 10x10 and 12x12. Sorry, I guess that's not really all that helpful.

I have some black 5x5s laying around. I wish I had 8x8s. That would have been cool.

Try Sammy's...I know they carry some self mount albums.

And now that you've contacted them and let them know that you need them in a hurry, they'll get them out to you as soon as they can (which might be next month) and charge you triple for "expedited" shipping.

I happen to have an iMount 8x8 in my inventory, or I think I do (it might be a 7x7). But I paid so darn much for shipping that thing (long LONG art leather horror story) that if I overnighted it to you, it'd end up costing me a fortune.

Shame cuz it's a beautiful book.

Yeah, just checked. Mine is an 8x8 iMount in dark chocolate brown leather with a cameo cover, no studio imprinting. If you seriously want me to overnight it to you, PM me and I'll look up the price for how much I paid.

Same problem here, I ordered a box of 10x10 30 page Imounts 5 weeks ago, still nothing. The rep finally emailed me today, after several emails and calls. Something is on backorder, and will be in "real soon". Uh huh. So now I will be late getting the album to the bride. Guess I'll have to keep a large stock on hand, if they ever come off backorder.

I have tried and tried to deal with them. I have had unbelievable issues. But I have tried to forgive and forget...But I have learned (and already knew) forgiveness does not mean I have to be stupid.

I had ANOTHER interesting call TODAY with them. I have tried to be nice this time, I would really like it to work, but alas, it doesn't look like it. Art Leather is known in the industry for not being well...ummm...consistent. Stay away. I am looking for an alternative also for IMount books.

They have run out of the "glue" (adhesive) for the IMount books AGAIN. How do you run out of the glue??? Poor planning? Lack of Inventory control? Mexicans are stealing the glue to waterproof their sheets to float across the Rio Grande???

Oh, btw the glue is made in the good ole USA.

I have really tried...being nice, being upset, even being angry...owner has no clue and doesn't care.

GP Albums and PictoBooks both have self-mount albums that look pretty decent. GP has a better selection in terms of sizes and colors though...I think Picto is pretty much 2 sizes, all black.

I actually ended up using a KISS book. Shaun was able to get it done for me in two days and it looked awesome and the couple was super happy with it.

I will never go back to Art Leather again. They called me last week to tell me they got the books done and asking me how I wanted them shipped after I had already canceled the order. They are such idiots!!!

No doubt, Art Leather is awful. I had the same problem with an Urbane Album not too long ago. I made a post about it in the Client section (Good Vs. Bad Customer Service) but I didn't list who the company was because I didn't want to bash them. Turns out, they really don't care about us and so I don't care if I shout it from the roof tops that they are horrid!

Plus it's nice being called a "hottie" when you visit the site. I visit at least 3 times a day now.

They called me the week after I canceled my order and asked how I wanted it shipped! I still have one more book that I'm waiting for from them. I ordered it 5 weeks ago and still nothing. I called two days ago and they still have no idea when the adhesive will be in. They have THE worst customer service. Absolutely horrid. Please, please, please don't use art leather!!!

I used the 8x8's for some senior albums a month back. The books arrived a week after I ordered them. Based on what I've read in this thread, that must have been a fluke. Then again it took me 2 weeks to get my rep on the phone to order them as they were in the process of moving. Oh well, sometimes you just get lucky.

I needed my imount deluxe album for guestbook by this Friday (been over two months) and art leather still says no adhesive. So, I just gave up on them and searched for alternative albums. I never thought I would be in luck with such short notice, but General Products SO came through! The nicest woman (Mary) helped me out...they are making the album now and shipping it with my fed-ex # (almost unheard of) overnight. It is so what I wanted...it is the self-mount optima. you can also reposition the prints. prices were great, and though the leather colors aren't like my samples from AL, they have cool fabrics and shantungs...as of last week no additional charge for the different cover options!!! Oh, did I mention that they don't even have a rush charge?! Unbelievable! I am so happy! When I get the album I will post back on the quality...
