ok so I got LR on my makbook pro 17 and my g5 both with 1gb ram
and I get this upon startup for 24 hours, and still going
"please wait while your lightroom lbrary is updated..."
any one know why or how I v=can fix this
its happening on both macs

stop the install (i dont know how on mac but ctrl alt del, end task type) make it all stop!
then, delete everything related to lightroom, including library files. Do you NEED the library? Was there stuff in there? Backup - if you need that, save a copy somewhere. Otherwise trash the library files, trash EVERY lightroom file, and then redownload and reinstall. it'll go perfect if you delete the library first. LR has an issue converting some old libraries.

That libray update thing can take a long time, 24 hours seems excessive though. Only 1 GB of RAM probably isn't helping as LR loves lots of RAM.
