So I am of on a road trip of sorts in a little over a month. I will be driving from Portland to South Bend, Indiana to attend grad school summer session...then off to NY to visit some family...then to Phoenix, AZ where I am will be pursuing some dreams for the next year or two...

For the most part I will be traveling alone so needless to say I will need some good...and encouraging tunes to get me by. I am looking for stuff that is positive...and will promote good time and encourage reflection on all of the stuff (good and bad) that has happened over the past year.

Currently I have a great selection of BarlowGirl, Matt Maher and U2 songs that I rocked out to on my WPPI road trip...and I have started a list below of others to add. I am also going to make a CD for a group of ladies that I am speaking to about taking road trips on your own (no kids, significant others...etc).

Thanks for your help...and maybe I will run into a few of you on my trip...

Road Trip Tunes List:

1) Unwritten - Natasha Bettingfield
2) Anyway - Martina McBride
3) Feels Like Today - Rascal Flatts
4) Wide Open Spaces - Dixie Chicks
5) What A Beautiful Day - Chris Cagle
6) Live Like You Were Dying - Tim McGraw
7) No Rain - Blind Melon
8) Beautiful Day - U2
9) Video - India Aire
10) Life Is A Highway - Rascal Flatts ( I like their "country" version thumbsup.gif)
11) Put Your Records On - Corinne Bailey Ray

Thanks!!!

*I know you're looking for positive...these are rather melancholic, but still great road trip songs. I'd list a lot more but looking through my iTunes playlist I realized just how much I like depressing/melancholic/nostalgic music... smile.gif

My favorite "change in my life" music is anything by Jimmy Buffet. His tunes are always on my best road trip mixes.

Also anything by Lyle Lovett.

Yield is currently in heavy rotation for my listening though, so I think the whole album rocks.

major points for pick California stars.how about anything by anything by the Band and Neal Young, the stones' 'exile on main street' must be played entirely.If/when driving through the desert, get the metal out & play Judas Priest's 'Point of Entry' and pretend your the road warrior. At night in th emiddle of nowhere, play Kashmere by Led Zeppelin.
