I'm checking out someone's shared iTunes library and I came across this jewel from the New Jack Swing days...

"I Wanna Sex You Up"

One of the lyrics sums it up perfectly: "Feels so right it can't be wrong"

There's no way that song is better than "I swear"

"I think we're alone now...doesn't seem to be anyone around...I think we're alone doesn't....the beating of my heart is the only sound...."

Ahhhh...the good ole' Tiffany, Debbie Gibson, and NKOTB days!

"Oh, Oh, Oh oh oh, Oh, Oh, Oh oh...the right stuff. You've got the right stuff. Baby."

That is too weird! That song popped into my head this morning while I was pouring my special K ! w00t.gif

I remember making a mix tape for a girl I liked and I put that one on there - it was the first song of course. That was all BC - of course.

What about the NKOTB offshoot [Donnie Wahlberg's younger brother]...

"Good Vibrations"

Favorite lines:

"Donnie D's on the back up/ Drug free/ So put the crack up"

To the girl when they're, like, doing it in the video: "You feel it baby? Yeah. I can too"

Hilarious.

I still sing along with Barry Manilow, but I haven't bought any Barry on iTunes. I'm not that desperate. Yet.

Yesterday I found an old mix CD as Kelly and I were in the car... I realized it must've been my guilty pleasure mix. Off the top of my head, it had:

John Parr - St. Elmo's Fire
Billy Joel - The Entertainer & We Didn't Start the Fire
Butthole Surfers - Pepper
Bon Jovi song or two

And a bunch more that I almost got laughed out of the car for. Sue me... I love 'em all!

Suddenly, I'm no longer embarrased at any of the music I listen to. Not even a little bit. Not anymore.

Cinderella's greatest hits maybe? But I'm not embarrassed at that though - it's classic stuff. git.gif

The other day Lynn was singing "Da Do Run Run" by Shawn Cassidy. He's so dreamy. wub.gif

OK, I know that's not fair. The other night I lip synched "So Lonely" by The Police for the kids. The boys thought I was cool -- my 11 year old daughter, not so much. huh.gif

Then I belted out "The afternoon has gently passed me byyyy, The evening spreads itself against the skyyyyyy. Waiting for tomorrow -- just another day-ay. But I bid yesterday goodbye----oh. [insert "white reggae" beat] Bring on the night. I couldn't stand another hour of daylight.

I guess I was on a "Police" kick. I know. Old school. So sue me. It took me a while to figure out what "NKOTB" was -- I'm so clueless.

But I'm not embarrassed about that. It's when I'm singing to myself in line somewhere, singing something like "All the boys in the band want a valentine from a Barlow Girl" or that Frogs, Dogs, Princes song. Then I'm embarrassed.

BBD is no guilty pleasure, it's just great music.

I would pay upwards of $40 for a vinyl copy of BBD's Poison.

I actually have this New Edition album on display over my turntables.

Do you think we could get Zack to deconstruct the lighting on this one??
