Okay, so I want to get a sample set ordered from graphistudio - and they have a special through May 15th (maybe just for me as I just got the promo pack) for a sample set for $200.

The problem, I only have photoshop - not CS - so no InDesign, and I am not any good at designing in photoshop (I don't know enough about it). So, help?

I really need some guidance here. If any of you can offer any help on where/how to start, that would be great.

You guys are wonderful! wub.gif

I also use Lumapix Fotofusion and I like it. Their latest Release (Version 4) is a little buggy, but if you are using a PC (no Mac version, which is too bad), then you may want to try the trial and check it out.

In fact, you should download and/or purchase through Robin. She is a Lumapix affiliate. Go to Bellissima Design

If you have any questions, feel free to PM or email me or Robin.

Thanks guys! I just went and checked out Lumapix -- I am defintely thinking about it.

Do any of you order Graphi using a LumaPix design?

I assume it is pretty easy from there on.

Thanks - I definitely want to get better at this!

Becky, it is really too bad you cannot make Robin's album workshop at the DC One Light. You would get sooo much info on finding the best solutions for your album offerings. And having access to Robin one-on-one in that environment would really inspire you ... lots!!

Any way you can make it happen?

I stopped using Graphi so I cannot help with that. But you should be able to design for any album using Lumapix. It is not limiting you with template selections. It allows true freedom in creative design options.

Yeah, I know, I really wish that I could. I just don't think I can take the two days in a row from school -- end of the year - gotta get things done. You know. smile.gif

Becky, since you're a student you should be able to pick up a copy of the Adobe Creative Suite for a decent price.

It's $589 at Academic Superstore

If you're really not into spending the money regular ol' Photoshop (I assume version 7) should work just fine. Just check out some tutorials -- or hit your library for some Adobe Press books!

Good luck.

I am a teacher -- but still, thanks! smile.gif It might be more $ than I want to spend.

Educators are also eligible. I'd definitely recommend getting either CS2 or CS3 if you're doing albums. Consider it an investment in your business.

But if you get the suite, you're stuck with it. You can only upgrade the entire suite and not individual programs.

Really?

We upgraded Photoshop CS (as part of the Creative Suite) to CS2 as a solo upgrade. Is that a difference between CS2 and CS3?

Edit: BTW, I like the Spock avatar. I'm no Trekkie/Trekker, but I think it fits. You're, like, logical... wink.gif

I was also under the impression you had to upgrade the full Suite. Now I'm curious to know the facts!

I do all my album designing right in photoshop. It's a powerful design tool and can be both fast and easy. Below is a link to a video tutorial and a recent album designed in photoshop using the techniques in the video. Let me know if you have any questions.

Carl,

I'm new to album design, so your album design is like a god sent.
And the sample album is great.
So, thank you very much.

All I know is that we had a full version of Adobe Creative Suite. We wanted to get Photoshop CS2 and so we bought the upgrade from our local Apple Store and installed it.

That simple.
