I wanted to ask if there is a way for the client to get the images off of the DVD. Let's say they pop it in the computer and right click the image are they able to save it. Or can they screen shot? I tried to find this answer in other posts, but I couldn't locate anything.

Does anyone know? TIA

Yes.

If someone wants to grab a screen capture, there's no way to stop them. There is always a way to get a copy of the image, so the best thing to do is to just not worry about it. They can take copies off DVDs, websites, slideshows, or scan prints. Some people are more concerned about price and will even enlarge a proof and hang it on their wall even though it has PROOF written across it.

Chances are, they're probably not your clients smile.gif

Thanks...I am not too worried, but I am thinking of offering a special as an introduction to the DVDs, but wanted to be sure that in general, there wasn't a quick and easy right click to the image. I may loose out on my post sales if that is the case. And if THAT is the case, I may re-consider my special offer.

So is it right click protected or was the yes an answer to they ARE able to right click? biggrin.gif

For playing DVDs on my computer I use a program called PowerDVD which comes free with a lot of computers or DVD drives. To capture a frame from the DVD, all one needs to do is hit the C key and it'll write the file to a preset folder. So it's even easier than doing a screen capture using Print Screen...

HMMM...very good to know! Like I said, I can't worry too much about it, but was curious how EASY it was.

Screen capture is one thing but I think what we're getting at here is to ask whether the high rez images are included on the DVD where someone could go make nice 4x6 prints from a photo lab with the DVD.

e.g. - when you burn a slide show in Apple's iDVD, you get an option to 'include high resolution images on disc'. I think that's the question here. I'd have to guess no since there's no reason to do so (for the video slideshow) and it would take longer to burn the discs, but I'd love to hear from DJ or Todd to know for sure.

The high res image files are definitely not included in the DVD's and if someone tried to do a screen capture from these DVD's they'd get a horrible looking print so this is definitely not something to worry about. smile.gif
