I'm trying to import into LR directly from my cf cards but don't know where to put it exactly. Should I have a specific folder for LR imports? If so, where should this folder reside?

Thanks!
Shaun Austin
i keep most of it on an external hard drive. if you want you can pull it straight from your cf but I only do that at weddings for slideshows or when I am in a hurry.

Wherever you like! Whatever makes the most sense to you. I keep all mine sorted by date/client foldersClick to view attachment like this. They're in a folder called 2007 on my data harddrive.

They're backed up nightly to another harddrive and weekly to another external drive that I keep offsite.

You can have LR import them by date and then you can add your own text after the date before it imports (this will create a folder structure like the one I've attached.)

Well, i've tried 2x. I upload the picture. I insert it into the post. I preview it and it's fine. I post the message and it's broken.

Here it is on my server.

KEWL! Thanks so much! Now I have another question? Sorry, but you know, it's a new day biggrin.gif

I noticed that in the iPhoto gallery, whenever I delete a picture, it doesn't really delete the file completely, it's still in the folder. I was thinking that I'd like to keep iPhoto for archiving all my photos and just importing the "jobs" into Lightroom so that I can do the color correcting, sorting and such; I won't need to do that for all my personal pictures. If I do it this way I'm not really doubling the image by importing into LR since I'll be linking the LR pictures to the original images that were first imported into iPhoto right? Am I making sense? Does my system make sense? I just want to make sure I'm not using more hard drive space on my computer.

Thanks!
