I am in desperate need of getting some proof albums that hold 4x6s (that holds typically at least 100+). Do you know of any good looking ones?
Thank you in advance for you help
P.S. this kind of goes along w/ the same question... but do you offer proof albums w/ your packages (say, if they get 100 4x6s...) or do you just give them the prints and have them deal with their own albums?

Hi Kate,

I use to offer 100 4x6 prints in an 2-up album from Topflight with 'Our Wedding' embossed on the cover. Too many folks were happy with that and nothing more (some even ordered add'l copies) so I moved to loose prints in a box. I couldn't find quality boxes for less than the proof albums so now I don't offer the prints at all. Now I offer print credits and albums. Seems to be working well.

Kolo albums are super cute... however, I don't believe they have ones that hold 4x6s... right? As far as I know, all their albums are ones that you 'tape or glue' the pictures to the page... like a scrapbook. Right?

I used to give my brides these 4x6 proof albums that they LOVED (as did I). I used to buy them from a company called Tabula Rasa (a high-end stationary store here in UT). I actually saw them once at Bed Bath & Beyond. The albums were made from a company called Milano. However, Tabula Rasa nor BB&B do not carry that style any more, nor (of course) will they tell me where they get those albums. However, I still see other 'Milano' albums, so I know the 'company' is still around.
I have 'googled' it and can't find these albums. Has anyone seen or heard of these albums before? They look like a leather box (4x6 clear sleeves, 2-up) with a cameo on the front, then when you open it, inside are the 4x6 sleeves. They are gorgeous albums and they look high quality. The stores I had purchased them from sold them from $30-50. Again, the back of the album had "Milano" embossed on it. Anyone seen or heard of them? I would love to continue offering them if I could just find them!
Thank you in advance!

Kolo Albums sell different types. I used them for a proof album a few months ago and it worked fine. Each album holds 200 4x6s. I prefer the one that has the 3-ring just in case some are out of order.

This is my approach as well and will offer online proofing instead. I worked with someone who gave the 4x6 proofs then we'd never hear from them again. All my wedding pics are 4x6's in a shoebox in the basement somewhere. Wish I had an artistically designed album sad.gif

+1

I've been giving the 4x6 prints in boxes, but have decided to stop giving 4x6 proof prints. I'll be offering proofbooks from WHCC in the near future.

Rather than stuffing/taping 4x6s into an album all day, maybe consider a spiral bound proof book as an option too. Inexpensive and MUCH less work for you, and they're less likely to think of those proofs as their finished prints. The fact that the little buggers are punched and bound means they won't use them as gift prints either - just proofs.

For smaller proofing tasks, I'm in love with my lab's 5x5 bordered proofs. About a hundred to a set fit in the ring binding, and they apply the sloppy border and either crop the proof a bit or fit it on the page if it won't crop well. It comes with a clear cover and you can upload a cover page as well with your studio name and/or the couple's name, file name and etc is on the back. Turnaround time is a day or two, they're .29c/each plus $4 for the binding. People love these fat little books!

They also have larger proof magazine with 4 or more proofs per page, similar binding. They've got ROES for easy upload too if you want to try them out. Digital Precision Imaging (DPI)

I have bought some really cute slip in albums from a company called Melannco. I don't know if they are the same thing, but they have some really awsome slip in style albums for 4x6 sizes. I give them as gifts to brides and grooms for honeymoon pictures, which is a big hit.

I saw these when Sara brought hers to OSPW and they're REALLY REALLY nice - great price and it keeps the idea that they are PROOFS and not actual prints to replace an album. For the price you should try them at least smile.gif

That's right! I forgot I had those at OSPW since I was meeting with the client that Saturday. They even held up to much OSP pawing before being delivered to the client. wink.gif

People love the borders (these were the 5x5 booklets) and they come in black or white sloppy or keyline.

Thank you for your help, everyone.
I did say my question wrong to begin with (sorry). I need an album for FINAL prints, not proofs. (I agree on the proof magazine album, or 5x5 spiral proof bounds etc. for PROOFS).
I don't think I am going to offer albums that fit the 4x6s any more. It's too tough to find a cute, good looking album.
