Hi everyone!

I am selling my D300 and upgrading my main camera (D700) to a D3 (or D3s). My question is: Is there a big enough improvement from the D3 to the D3s, that make waiting a couple months to save, the difference in price, up? Also, are the ISO capabilities better than the D700? I am doing personal research as well, but wanted to ask all of you as well.

Thanks!!!Posted Image

If you're upgrading, you might as well get the current model, so the D3s it is. It has about a 1 2/3 stop advantage over the D3/D700 at 6400 ISO and above and slightly better color at every ISO. So if you are shooting at 6400 and up, the D3s makes sense and if not, going from a D700 to a D3 won't be much of an upgrade as far as your images are concerned. Just my opinion...hope that helps some.

Totally agree with Dustin. The D3 isn't much of an upgrade over the D700 - you get two card slots, but other than that, the only real difference is the FPS. Let's face it, for weddings that's not really a big deal.

The D3s is amazing. I've shot with it, and it's truly incredible. Low light performance is phenomenal. Color is amazing. But honestly, I love the D700 so much - I'm personally probably going to pass. I have my D700's and I'm happy. I'd actually prefer to get a D700S when that comes out. That will be worth it in my mind.

Just my opinion :)

Thanks guys! After doing my own research I agree. I was planning on getting a second D700 all along, and then began to question that. For the $$ I feel that the 700 get the most bang for my buck. I just can't justify spending the $$ on the D3s now either.

Thanks again!!!
