I'm so stoked you guys liked the little surprise inside! If there's anything I can help clarify about the book, feel free to ask me either on OSP or my blog or the Fast Track Forum.

Thanks you guys!

Dane, one question

I already bought the ebook. I would like the pDNA assessment and I am thinking about buying the hard copy because it comes with the pDNA. I got one question... I am in chapter 4 waiting to complete the pDNA, if I buy the hard copy book, will I have immediate access to the pDNA or do I have to wait for the book to arrive? I am dying to keep reading.

I could not wait for the printed book so I bought the pdf one. I cannot put it down! THIS IS A MUST READ!!!!I have been a photographer since 1990 and focused on weddings in the last four years. While I have had a decent growth, I wish I would have had this book four years ago. Sure, I have heard some of the ideas the book share here and there, but having them in one place, logically organized and applied to and made sense within the wedding photography business is an incredible gift. Dane, you have done a wonderful thing. It is clear, concise, entertaining, educational, inspirational and, most of all, challenging. A job well done. Thanks and God Bless, Dane!PS... Next WPPI you will have to autograph my note filled pdf copy!
Right on David! You're on!!Thanks so much for the kind words. I'm so glad it's helpful.

Is this just for wedding photography? Would a portrait photographer get as much out of it? Thanks! Things are going great, but I am really searching for ways to streamline and take everything to the next level.
Hi Betsy. All the examples in the book come from my experience in wedding photography but the concepts are universal to any service based industry in the digi-flat era. My attorney read it and told me it was really helpful for his business. I'd encourage you to get feedback from others to see if what I'm suggesting resonates, but at the least, I hope that helps. If you do get into it, will you let me know what you think? Bless you.

I just got my ecopy too, and I had already downloaded the ecopy of the first chapter and I knew then I had to have this book. I haven't read the whole rest of it yet, but as a new photographer, I feel like this is going to make such an impact in my business. All that I got out of the preview of the first chapter was worth the $25. I can't wait to see what the rest of the book holds in store!!!Thanks Dane!!!! ps. I'll be back to let you all know how awsome it is!!!
Right on Shane! Thanks for the encouragement. I'm telling you guys... it is so awesome to feel the OSP love for this labor. It means the world to me. thank you thank you thank you.

Dane,

WOW! I don't shoot weddings so I don't contribute as much as I get to take from this forum.

I just read the first 2 sample chapters.... I have to say what a fantastic book for me and other photographers to read. Your book confirmed what i noticed in the industry and you had me reeling after every paragraph, saying " I can't believe he said that!" Thank you for your hard work and I think it will be a big hit.

One question. What actor, do you think, is going to play YOU when they make this book into a movie? LOL

It really is a worthwhile book, I finished it today and it will get you incredibly energized to keep pursuing your passion of photography. But it will help you decide exactly which path you want to take, and what you need to accomplish in order to be successful. It's nice that he doesn't try to steer you in any direction, because we're all different, but he definitely tries to encourage you to pick SOME direction. If you're on the fence on whether to get it or not, GET IT!

All those who register for David Jay's Free to Succeed Tour get an e-copy as well! Sweet! Sign up for his newsletter for the deets.

I am really frustrated. I got the newsletter saying that we get a free copy (I registered for the Tour back in June, before this book came out I guess?) but I cannot, for the life of me, figure out how on earth to get my e-copy of this book. What am I missing???? I have my order confirmation email; I have the newsletter that just links to Dane's site; I've logged into my FTS account to see if the link is hidden in there and I can't find it!

I am not normally this dense... I would love any clues. Thanks!

I just finished reading Fast Track Photographers as well as the pDNA. I am now implementing what I learned. I am spending some time thinking and auto examining myself.

If you haven't read it yet or are skeptical, put aside those thoughts that hold you down and read it. You won't regret it.

This is not a how to make yourself rich book or success sweet talk. This book is real, it is transparent, it is about how to bring real value to your life and others and how real success is built upon this principle. There is a quote from the final chapter that I think help set this book apart from many others:

Quote

"We've talk a lot in this book about creating value in the marketplace... I would like to encourage you, thought, to think about creating value in an even higher way, too. That is: create positive value in the world. Add something good to the planet. Make the world a better place through the work you do."

While I write this I am watching a documentary on IFC that I think illustrates this perfectly. It is called called "Born into Brothel" from an organization called Kids with Cameras and I found out that won an Oscar for best documentary.

Very interesting project that reveals the sad reality and conditions in which children of prostitutes live in India and how they are destined to follow on their mothers footstep.

It also shows how one photographer, Zana Briski, seek to bring value and hope to these kids live through photography.

To me this speaks of the broader responsibility that we have as photographers and communicators to go beyond the mere production of wealth for wealth sake. We have been given a unique gift to speak through Pictures and we should use it to enrich the life on everyone that we touch, be it a client or anyone else.

Please, check out Kids with cameras. It is an excellent example on how we can make our world better.

And, read the book.

I am new here but not new to photography. I had purchased the book version of Dane Sanders book because I want to get back into photography. I had left photography over 10 years ago. I had graduated from college with a degree in photography and I had been working as an assistant to a wedding photographer. I somehow gave it up when I moved to the States, getting sidetracked with another career. With the changes in photography, I am thinking that now is a great time to re-enter the industry and I see this book as a possible tool to do this. Well, imagine my surprise when I got home for lunch and found the e-copy in my email in-box. All I can say is that Dane Sanders ROCKS! Thank you Dane for the inspiration to begin again.

Nicky,

Thanks so much for starting this thread and inviting honest feedback. One of my biggest goals in writing the book was that it was actually valuable for people and not just blah blah blah buy my book. So, people's input here has been overwhelmingly encouraging. So, thank you thank you thank you.

I have a request though for some of you, if you're into it. I noticed a thread at another forum that also asked for honest feedback and I didn't want to intrude on it. Might some of you guys be open to giving you two cents there or at the other places around the Internet? Another fun outlet is to leave a comments on my blog. Endorsements from real people are what I appreciate most when I'm trying to make a decision. So, would you consider lovecat-ing my book if you feel so inclined?

It means so much to me when people do this sort of thing because they're compelled to not because they feel they have to. If that's you, go for it! It would mean the world to me.

Bless you guys and thanks again Nicky!
-Dane

PS... I also can't thank DJ enough for his kind words. Validation from you and everyone here at OSP makes all those late nights worth it. My gratitude runs deep.
